Soledad Midcentury Kitchen.

The Soledad Midcentury Kitchen began with design goals of opening up the space, inviting in more natural light, capturing views of the canyon and mountain range, and transporting the inhabitants back to a bright and fun kitchen of yesteryear. After the demo of the old kitchen, the exterior walls received four new large, tall windows. The cabinetry design process led to a very unique door contour, where angles and curves converge. The countertops were treated in an original boomerang-pattern formica, capped with a chrome edge band that follow some very unique curvilinear shapes of countertops. The bright and funky triangular-tile backsplash lend to the cheerful and playful environment, enhanced by the bright blue, sunny San Diego skies. The original natural oak floors were restored to balance the bright colors, and the ceiling was enhanced with a two-step tray. New stainless steel appliances were designed into the new kitchen. Lastly, the island was adorned with an original atomic light fixture to appropriately set the mood.
