58th St. Midcentury Kitchen.

This small and bright 58th Street Kitchen is a new take on a classic Midcentury vision. The galley-style Kitchen maintained the original shape and functionality of the original in this 1950 home. The new design began with a trip in the old Time Machine to seek out and restore old appliances. The oven, refrigerator, and sink/faucet are 1950’s original pieces, which were refinished and updated with new mechanics. They help to establish the design theme within the Kitchen, as well as enliven the room with vibrant colors. The new flush-door cabinets were constructed from walnut and given some atomic pulls and knobs. The countertops were done in a vintage formica, wrapped in a chrome bump rail to help give the users that diner feel. The throwback VCT floor allows for bulletproof daily use and easy cleaning. Old light fixtures were given new life, and under cabinet lighting on dimmer switches allows for better, more modern lighting in a time capsule of a kitchen.
